Since its inception, Comité Noviembre has placed special focus on volunteerism and educational excellence as the key to the future of the Puerto Rican community. Established in November of 1996, in celebration of the tenth anniversary of Puerto Rican Heritage Month, the Comité Noviembre Scholarship Awards Program was launched. The proceeds from the Comité Noviembre Benefit supports all scholarships. To date, Comité Noviembre has a success rate of over 330 scholars boasting a 90 percent college graduation rate since the inception. These exceptional scholars are making a difference in their community by volunteering and becoming involved in the social, civic, and global issues of their time. Comité Noviembre has created and developed programs all geared to the support and enhancement of educational opportunities and leadership development for Puerto Rican and Hispanic youth with a cultural twist.
