2026 Cabrera Drinane Scholarship: For Social Work
This scholarship, supported by the Cabrera Drinane Familia, is designed for students of Puerto Rican descent who demonstrate a strong commitment to community, culture, and social justice. Applicants should be currently pursuing a major in Social Work at the undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral level, with a clear dedication to serving and advocating for marginalized populations. Rooted in the rich traditions of Puerto Rican culture where community care, resilience, and collective responsibility are deeply valued this opportunity seeks individuals who carry these principles into their academic and professional journeys.
Ideal candidates will demonstrate a meaningful connection between their Puerto Rican heritage and their commitment to social work practice and social justice. This includes a proven interest in addressing systemic inequities, empowering underserved communities, and advancing culturally responsive approaches to care. Through this scholarship, we aim to support future social workers who are not only academically driven, but also deeply grounded in the values of advocacy, equity, and service that continue to define and strengthen Puerto Rican communities.
Scholarship Amount
The scholarship recipient will receive a $1,000 award (one-time offer).
