Kick-Off Celebration

The Annual Puerto Rican Heritage Month Celebration begins with a Kick-Off Celebration which honors Puerto Rican community heroes through Lo Mejor de Nuestra Comunidad Awards, announces high school and college student recipients of the Comité Noviembre Scholarship for Volunteerism, The Richie Perez Scholarship for Peace and Justice, The Ernesto Malave Scholarship for the Arts, and The Josefina Aguado Scholarship for Single Parents, The Figueroa Sisters Scholarship, unveils the annual poster, and distributes its commemorative journal. The event is free for the community.
