Since its inception, Comité Noviembre has placed special focus on volunteerism and educational excellence as the key to the future of the Puerto Rican community.  In November of 1996, in celebration of the tenth anniversary of Puerto Rican Heritage Month, the Comité Noviembre Scholarship Awards Program was established.  Comité Noviembre scholarships to exceptional Puerto Rican youth who are making a difference in their community through their volunteer efforts. historically has placed special focus on volunteerism and educational excellence as the key to the future of the Puerto Rican community. This scholarship is firmly rooted in the belief, that to succeed in life, youth must pursue a higher education, give back to their community through volunteer efforts, and know their cultural roots.
